Snowboard Setup

I know I put up the picture of boxes of the goods up earlier, but I finally put my board together. I got the Forum Honeypot for that skateboard feel along with Forum Faction bindings and Forum Fastplant boots. The boots have a resemblance of the Supra Skytop, but make up for that with comfort and the price was right. I plan on going to Table Mountain Wednesday, so feel free to come up as well!

PS3 Releases

So it appears that for the Playstation 3 there will be a release of X-Men Arcade for Playstation Network and the Sega Dreamcast Collection. The last time I ever played X-men Arcade was at that Playdium in Edmonton, which I have no reason why they closed down. I think six people were able to play at the same time with characters such as Wolverine, Cyclop and Nightcrawler. Enjoy that side scrolling action.

Sega Dreamcast Collection on the other hand contains my favorite Dreamcast game, Powerstone 2. Originally playing it I had no idea what it was from, but years later they released a television show on YTV. In my opinion it is a better Super Mario Smash Brothers, check the link.

Winter

It's that point of time where Saskatoon gets cold and stays cold. Especially today with that rain that froze instantly. People are always complaining about the cold and are wondering how to stay warm. At this time of year a lot of folks travel to warm destinations but those who stay in the city such as myself must bear the cold. Personally on a typical winter day I will wear my Reigning Champ polar tech zip up, my North Face "Gotham" down jacket, Adidas x Ransom "Summit Boots" and a Broadway Roastery "London Fog" always compliments the weather.

I just laughed because Bun B had a tweet saying "Hello Saskatoon!" and doesn't like our cold weather.

I recently created a new Hypebeast account. I am disappointed with the things I posted in highschool on my old account. I created the new account "hellosaskatoon" to be entertained with all of the fashion and off topic threads. The things people say on this forum are ridiculous and you can find out the latest drops of clothing, music, video games, etc.

Yesterday we finally ordered the hello saskatoon stickers. Now everyone can contribute by putting a sticker somewhere to get the word out. I, for one will be placing one on my snowboard. They are said to come soon, but we are planning on giving some out with purchases of shirts. Just wait until January, we have a couple of surprises for the New Year.

Christmas is coming!

While finals have begun, I have started to notice Christmas slowly creeping up. I'm guilty of being a last minute shopper as far as Christmas presents go, but this year I plan on changing that. I have also noticed that as we approach December 25th, more and more places are starting to play Christmas music. I know alot of people get easily annoyed by the constant reminder and the sounds of bells and harps. I, on the other hand find it to be a nice change of pace.

Study Breaks

When I'm not studying I have been continuing with my addiction to Dragonball. I finally caught up and watched up to episode 84 in Dragonball Z Kai. Posts ago I mentioned that there was some controversy over whether the Dragonball Z was different from Kai. The story is the exact same but there are less episodes making it a lot easier to watch. Episode 85 in the original series was when Goku comes out of the healing chamber to fight Frieza on Namek while episode 85 in Kai is right before the Cell Games. This newer season makes it easier to watch and is more enjoyable in my opinion.

Last night I started to watch the old movies, so far I have seen: "Dead Zone", "The World's Strongest", "The Tree of Might" and "Lord Slug". These have all been before the arrival of Raditz so there are minimal characters and Gohan is still a child. If anyone wants to watch, I have been watching Dragonball Z Kai in Japanese on Anime Freak and the movies on www.watch-dragonball.com via JJ.

My snowboard bindings have been sent and I was planning to go snowboarding Wednesday now that Table Mountain is open. It's highly unlikely that I will get them before then, looks like snowboarding will have to wait until after finals. That's too bad. But soon I will have a photo up of the complete snowboard.

Hello, Again

Dragon Ball Z Kai

Lately my brother has been spending an hour every Saturday watching Dragon Ball Z Kai. Apparently the difference between this and the classic Dragon Ball Z is the theme song and now many "filler" episodes have been removed. Although there is controversy of whether the story has changed, only two seasons have been released. In my memory I do remember fight scenes lasting 10 episodes. But now he has begun to watch episodes on Megavideo where I now join him. It's like grade 2 all over again, watching countless hours of Dragon Ball. I forgot how much I enjoyed it all, my cousin was really into which drove me to like it as well. I have seen it all: Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT and all of the movies...in both Cantonese and English. This is also a terrible thing to do before finals because I get addicted to television series easily (I watched all Big Bang Theory and Modern Family episodes in two weeks).

Arrival

My Adidas x Ransom "The Summit" came in yesterday morning. I am ready to wear these all winter and lay my other sneakers to rest until summer. I am glad to get these so soon, considering that they were just ordered Friday. The boot is great, nice laces, upper materials, grip and color way (black/olive/brown). The only thing that I would have liked to seen is metal buckles rather than plastic ones. Here's a photo of the new addition to my collection (I really need to get a camera to replace my BB Cam):

Since it's winter, I have just been wearing a few select pair of shoes: Vans Zapato's, Authentic's and Adidas Campus Vulc. But today I have a school project for marketing and I need to bring a pair of sneakers for my presentation. I always forget I own these...surprise surprise!

Now that it's almost time for finals, I find myself spending a lot of time in my room studying. First term classes end friday, which means final exams are right around the corner. With my terrible final schedule, I feel that I should start reading and doing homework now to avoid stressful nights before exams. Soon everyone will be able to forget about school and be able to enjoy Christmas, but until then:

Just a Taste: Amigos

A while back Dallas, JJ and I went to Amigos just off Broadway. Entering Amigos, you feel that bar atmosphere. There are pool tables, televisions, bar stools and a stage. You can check online at www.amigoscantina.com to see which bands are playing. There are always different genres of music being played. Online you can also view their menu and list of beverages. Although it seems like a bar during the day or for supper you are welcome to take the whole family for a meal. When I was younger my family had almost gone every week where we would all order chimichangas (highly recommended).

This time we ordered Nacho Grande. There is a full order and a half order, they are described as "Award winning nachos made with our own nacho chips and salsa, plus shredded chicken, ground beef, crab, tomatoes, green onions, olives, shredded cheeses & sour cream. Now those are nachos." They are definitely loaded and could be eaten as a meal. I have never eaten nachos with crab as a topping, but then again I have never eaten nachos like these.

  

Amigos was voted by Planet S for having the best staff and good service, which I can agree on. Planet S also awarded them on their nachos. If you are looking for a good homestyle mexican meal, good music or a place to get drinks, Amigos is a great choice.

For some reason I have been indecisive on the Adidas x Ransom "The Summit". My biggest worry at the moment is judging Adidas sizing. It is tough to say whether I am a size 8.5 or 9, but I will take the gamble with the 8.5. I haven't worn boots since the 4th grade and clearly I need something to keep my feet dry in winter. So yesterday I was offered to share an order with a friend also interested in The Summit and came to a decision that I am going to try and get them. The order has not been put in quite yet and now I am waiting to see if there is sizing available.

Barnstone Tournament

Every year at the Henk Ruys soccer center, Barnstone holds a soccer tournament. There is competitive and fun leagues for men, women and coed. This year I played coed, but hopefully next year I have the chance to play mens as well. We came up short this tournament but the environment was great. There were a lot of friends, good soccer and some fun parties. If you did not make it out this year, make an effort to come out next year.

Jingle Bell Run

This year was our first Jingle Bell Run. This was the 17th successful year. Dallas, Aashna and I woke up early and ran the 5 km along the river. The weather was perfect and the turn out was great. We saw a lot of teams dressed up creatively, it's hard to think that Christmas is creeping up on us. It was a lot of fun and felt good to be a part of something like this. Hopefully we participate again next year.

Two out of three

It honestly snowed all day. Thank goodness I own the Northface Gotham, but stupid that I wore Vans. A few posts before I mentioned that I was planning on snowboarding this winter and the other day I received the boots and board. The snow scares me because it's about time where everyone begins to drive terribly, but on the other hand I will be able to ride soon. I'll show you guys a better picture when I finish the puzzle.

New Winter Plan

The snow dropped in Saskatoon early this year. I recently purchased a snowboard, so this year you catch me on that bunny hill at Table Mountain. SSSAD Provincial Finals

For those who enjoy watching soccer, Centennial Collegiate and St. Joseph Highschool are meeting tomorrow at 2 pm at the soccer center. They had recently met up last Monday in the city finals where Centennial had came back to win the game 3-1. Here's a clip that JJ put together of Monday's city finals:

Jingle Bell Run

This year, Dallas and I plan to participate in Saskatoon's Jingle Bell Run on November 14. I was only aware of the run because my elementary school teachers used to run in it every year as a team, but this year my mother had asked me if I wanted to be a part of it. Seeing as she has arthiritis herself, I felt like it was more of a reason to do it. The Jingle Bell Run is a run to make donations towards finding a cure for arthiritis. Any age is able to participate in the 1 km, 2 km, 5 km or 10 km. You are able to either walk or run in it. You are able to register as an individual or as a team.

The run costs $40 which includes money that goes towards The Arthiritis Society and a brunch that will take place at The Radisson's "Aroma" restaurant.

FIFA 11

Right now when I am not being kept busy with school, I have been playing FIFA 11. FIFA came out last month and I made sure to pick it up the first day. This time each player has their own personality, for example Zlatan Ibrahimovic has flair and long shots. You will notice how much a better a player is in a game, by how accurate their pass is and how close their touch is. The online seems to be a lot better so far too, a lot less lag. There is also a new game play where you can play the total 90 minutes as a keeper. Words do not describe the game, when you have time either rent or buy FIFA 11. Even if you don't like soccer, I am sure you will enjoy the game.

The Other Guy: Fall '10

Just last week The Other Guy released three t-shirts. If you have not heard of The Other Guy it was created by Trevor, a friend of mine who had co-created Single Second. The Other Guy continues to bring color to everyone's lives with his well known cartoon graphics.

Trevor is hosting an art show on November 13, 2010. He will display a lot of his work including his Kid Robot Munny's. If anyone is interested follow, him on Twitter at TheOtherGuy or "like" The Other Guy on facebook.

The Investors Group Comedy Tour

On September 22, I attended this Comedy Tour at TCU Place. My mother works with the Investors Group so I was invited, the tour was started to assist local food banks throughout Canada. As soon as you entered the building you were able to donate foods to help people over the country.

This year they had three comedians on tour. The first one on stage was Simon Cotter, you may have seen him on Just For Laughs a few times.

The second comedian was Pete Zedlacher, he has also been on Just For Laughs a large amount of times. He has been involved with television and films such as Puppets Who Kill, Degrassi: The Next Generation and American Pie: The Naked Mile.

The last comedian was Greg Morton, you would definitely know him through weekend morning cartoons. He performed as voices on shows like Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show. He also has appeared on Just For Laughs and has opened for celebrities such as Celine Dion.

Just a Taste: Gibson's

"Just a Taste" are our own restaurant reviews in Saskatoon. We will share with everyone our personal experiences at the places we eat, simply our likes and dislikes.

For the past six months we have been discussing going out for lunch at Gibson's. Gibson's is a fish and chips joint located on 8th Street and Cumberland. The menu is consisted of burger, chicken and seafood meals. The price range for a meal is seven to thirteen dollars, this excludes desserts, salads and soups. As soon as you walk into the restaurant, you realize that Gibson's presents itself as a nautically inspired classic cafe.




Dallas and myself both ordered the Fish and Chips meal consisting of two fish, fries and coleslaw.

We both agreed that Gibson's has one of the best or the best fish and chips in the city. The batter was thin but still had a great texture, it has always been made the same way. The fish and chips there are always consistent, so if you like them the first time then you will most likely enjoy them every time. The service there was good as well, the waitresses and waiters always seem to be so happy and the cooks were fast. It's a place where you can go for a business lunch (you may smell like the food after) or even a place to go by yourself. They have those high stools where many single customers would choose to sit alone. You may look at the meal like we did and think to yourself that it is small, but the meal satisfied our hunger.

The only thing we disliked about Gibson's was the way we felt after the meal. Instantly after consuming everything we felt very sluggish. It's manditory to drink a lot of water during and after the meal to feel good.

Nike Free Runs

Last week I finally recieved my Nike Free Runs! I was very disappointed because it took over a week, waiting on shipping. But personally, I did believe it was worth the wait. While searching for shoes to purchase, I wasn't sure if I wanted the Free Runs, or the Reebok Zigtech shoes. So I took a little trip to Sport Chek and tried both shoes on. The nike's won my heart as soon as they were on my feet. With the unique look, very light weight, extremely comfortable, and the Nike+ benefit you can track all your runs with, they are very ideal for running or training. It's been a week of using them, and I personally want another pair. One for running/ rec sports, and the other for cross training. The price isn't bad at all, being just over one hundred dollars. I would recommend these shoes to anyone who is in search of a new pair of sneakers, for either running or training.

Troubled

I read a while back on www.innorecur.com, "Most of my friends have seemingly given up on soccer at least for the time being". This had really had me thinking, when I was in high school I used to frown upon those who quit playing soccer for partying and new interests. In my opinion they were "wasted talent". I myself did not stop playing for those reasons but I feel terrible for giving up. Last year, I quit playing in the CIS mainly for the reasons of having no free time. I was always busy with either school work or soccer and did not have time for friends and family. What I didn't realize then was that playing for the Huskies is a committment and that I should have expected before I had joined.

Now I am in the middle of deciding of what I should do this upcoming year, I miss it every day I wake up. I still have a lot of time to decide but this question's always resting at the back of my mind. It's almost like an itching sensation that you can't ignore.

I have been preparing myself for the indoor season by joining a team of highly skilled players, going to the gym often and trying to get into a running routine. My goals are to regain my skill, confidence and heart back.

Commerce: 2nd Year

Today was my first day back at the U of S, it consisted of two classes and a long hour and a half break. The other day I told myself that I was excited and ready for school, I am already starting to regret that. In my first class which is statistics, we had to write a pretest based on what we remembered the year before. I can honestly say, I could not remember one formula. Basically I am not looking forward to school because I am nervous all over again now that I need to increase my marks for my major. The best part of the day was seeing friends from last year, the U of S atmosphere is great.

Back into my routine

Highschool just began last Monday, and ever since it did, I have been excited for University. Other than myself, a lot of others seem anxious to get back at school. My goal regarding school is to raise my average by atleast three percent. I have an idea for the area of studies I would like to pursue, but this year will be much more specific. My major must be picked by February I think, so my second year will be quite important and must be taken pretty seriously.

Another exciting note to my life is that I will begin playing soccer again this fall. I am going to play with many guys that I played with in my past, but I am probably the youngest on the team by three years. That doesn't bother me though, I could definitely learn a lot from all of these guys. You can potentially see me in an extra large Brazil jersey (sigh). But this is a great opportunity of getting back into my groove and getting better.

Squash

Lately, Mike, Dallas and I have been going to the PAC to play squash. We usually have about three of us and just rent one court for about three hours. It's a lot more tiring than I expected and a lot more painful than I expected. A lot of quick movements and shoulder and thigh bruises. Other than being sore days after, this is a lot of fun. We all haven't played together at the same time, but will have to try it soon.

HUF Choice

I just saw these today at Momentum Marketplace. I am interested in the HUF "Choice" for skating. I am hoping it will feel like a Vans while riding. Other than the way it skates, it looks great! Black suede with a white midsole making it look clean (There are also other nice colorways). This is the first season for HUF footwear, they have introduced about four or five models this fall. I am assuming that the Choice will have good feel of the board but the durability will be much lower than the average shoe. It's still worth a try in my opinion.

Big Day Coming up!

Got a call from my high school basketball coach this weekend, basically telling me that he got me into some huskie basketball scrimmages this week. This suprised me a lot, because it is so soon. In my mind I was thinking maybe next year I could try out for the team and get my name out there, (maybe red shirt) but my coach is making it happen with his connections and all. Still a bit nervous even though I got nothing to lose. Going to give it my all and bring my A game, because the chance to participate in these events is rare. I will definitely make the most out of this opportunity!

Folkfest

Last night, Aashna, JJ, Dallas and I went to the last night of the Folkfest. The Folkfest offers a large amount of pavillions for different cultures along with one called Riderville. Riderville is a huge party for the Saskatchewan Roughrider fans. I personally disagree with this addition to the festival because Folkfest should be a chance to try and learn and experience cultures that you are not exposed to regularly.

The four of us went to the Caribbean Pavillion where we ran into a lot of friends and saw some performers. The only thing really cultural about this pavillion was the shows. There was not that large of a Caribbean crowd which had disappointed me a bit. I didn't get around to it, but there was good drinks and food such as one of my favorites, jerk chicken. Next year I am going to definitely go again and make sure to go to a few other pavillions.

Michael Buble

Last night Aashna took me to the Michael Buble concert. She had gone the first time he came to Saskatoon, approximately three years ago. She talked him up a lot, telling me that he was a great performer live because of his singing and his sense of humor. Buble also had the same opening act as last time, a New York group called Naturally 7. They did not use instruments, but rather made noises with their mouths to impersonate them. This video will give you a feel of what they are capable of producing.

Michael Buble on the other hand was exceptional. His singing sounded as nice as it did recorded. I did not know too many songs by him considering that a lot were older remakes and I have not heard his most recent album. But his performing was great, it was filled with dancing and laughs. He promised to come back to Saskatoon, so next time he does, make an effort to try and see him.

The Fringe

The Fringe unfortunately ended last weekend. Out of the estimated nine days it lasted for, I was probably there atleast six times. My favorite thing about it is that it gives artists of different types to express their talents to the city. It was pretty similar to the last few years: acts, food and market. I did my regular routine of wondering around and grabbing samosas from the Bulk Cheese Warehouse and spring rolls from Norm's.

If anyone had spent time at the Fringe, I hope they saw my homies Derek and Trevor from Single Second. They were hooking everyone up with their tees at great prices.

Campus Rec.

Recently I joined the U of S's campus rec soccer league. I am planning on helping them finish the season with a few games and possibly play offs. It is fun and it is helping me get back into the soccer routine. The league consists of all skill levels from Huskies Alumni to first timers. As of now, I have played two games and it has been a lot of fun. I hear that most campus rec leagues are great so if you go to the U of S try to join a team.

I have been told that I go out to eat too often. I also realize that I am not the best cook, so Saturday evening I wanted to start off with something easy and fun. Aashna and I made a stir fry together, it was easy to prepare and a good meal. No, I don't do catering.

Toronto

My brother two weekends ago participated in Saskatchewan's provincial championship game in the under 16 premier group. They won the game two nothing and for nationals they are invited to play in Toronto. I am sitting on the fence right now about going because it is expensive and is during the school year. The plan may be that a couple of hello saskatoon members are going, so this could be a lot of fun. I will let everyone know the plans if I choose to go with my family and friends.

Goodbye Calgary/Red Deer

My trip had gone as planned, I spent the majority of time with my family. Amazing food including: traditional chinese food, ribs, lobster and fish tacos. In our spare time we shopped, played basketball (I am worse than I thought I was), batting cages, arcade and seeing Inception.

When I was in Calgary Aashna and I saw Drake perform. We were in line outside for approximately two and a half hours. When we got in we realized there was no seating and it was way too hot. The crowd was very diverse and like usual everyone was spilling drinks on me. Overall Drake was good live, better at singing than I thought he would be.

We also did a bit of shopping, my favorite stop was Livestock where I purchased a Reigning Champ hood. Livestock is always cool because the guys there are knowledgable and welcoming. Cross Iron Mills was also new to me, it had a variety of stores that paid interest to everyone.

Lastly I received the Nissan Maxima, it is a lot more luxurious and fun than my Civic. I plan to show everyone photos when I get the chance.

New Computer!

Today I stood in line at Best Buy to accompany my girlfriend in buying a HP netbook. At an amazing deal, I got sucked into buying one as well. for 200$ you can't go wrong! I was thinking about using it for school, so if I love it enough, I will keep it. Setting up everything now and giving it a try, it definitely looks like a keeper. Really pumped to have it, and to me, a very good investment.

Taste of Saskatchewan

It's that time of year again where Saskatoon starts bumping with festivals. Always to come first is the Taste of Saskatchewan. The Taste of Saskatchewan has made a lot of noise this week. If you have never been, it takes place along the river. It has a large selection of foods and drinks. I didn't eat anything but the environment was busier than ever. Saw a lot of people I knew, hung out with the family and some friends along the river. Food is generally the same as last year but I recommend everyone to do the fish tacos at Avocados. This isn't lasting much longer so get your homies or your girls together and experience some good food.

Resident Evil 5

Whenever Dallas and I don't have plans made we choose to game. Today after researching top cooperative games on PS3 we found Resident Evil 5. This is funny because we started the second one at the beginning of the year and never finished it, because it was both hard and I got freaked out when arms grabbed me through walls. We played for a couple of hours today, and I recommend people to try this game out if they enjoy a good story and a lot of action. We aren't the most tactical or brave but the game is a lot of fun and was definitely worth it's $25 at Hi-Tech Game Traders.

Inception

I saw this movie on friday with little expectations. It was directed by Christopher Nolan, director of Dark Knight but way less hype. After watching it I can say that it is easily on par with the Dark Knight, perhaps even surpassing it in my eyes. Inception is one of those movies that grasps your attention from the get go, holding it until the end credits roll. The main concept behind the movie is the ability to extract and plant(incept) information/ideas through dreams. Due to the complexity of the story I am unable to go into great detail without spewing paragraphs upon paragraphs. What I can tell you is that it's worth the 10 bones and a bucket of popcorn. So grab your girl/friends/family and go see it, you won't regret it.

Maxima

So it comes to a conclusion, I am coming home with a Nissan Maxima next week from Red Deer. Super excited for the car because it is an upgrade on the Civic in terms of power windows, locks, engine and is more luxurious. Although I will miss the Civic's adventures and standard transmission this trade off will be well worth it.

2011 Games

Lately this year I have been getting back into the 1 v 1 games that I played as a child, such as Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. My cousin James had got me into both games when SNES was the thing. I was on IGN just looking at reviews and new trailers and I came across a couple. This first one is Mortal Kombat, I was never that good at MK but the characters and story always intrigued me much more than Street Fighter. I also used to get scared in MK 4 when your character died, he/she would fall in the pit of spikes. But in this new Mortal Kombat you are able to fight 2 v 2 in a tag team sort of setting. This makes me reminsce of Tekken Tag Team. I am excited for a good plot and violent gameplay.

The other game that has me excited is Marvel vs Capcom 3. Everytime this game comes out there is a change of characters, I just hope that my favorites are in it. My main concern with this game is whether the games playing style will be like previous Capcom games or Street Fighter in terms of doing super special attacks.

Both have me equally excited, this will result in late nights with the hello saskatoon family.

New Big Three!

Watch out for the beast from the east! Miami is being really aggresive not only re-signing Dwayne Wade, but acquiring Lebron James and fellow Raptor, Chris Bosh. Each individual on their own is amazing, but put together? We will all have to witness the greatness these players bring to the game when the season begins. Wade a six time NBA All-star, Lebron a two time NBA MVP, and Bosh a five time NBA All-star, are all teaming up, with chemistry already from them all being on team USA, they will be very fun to watch. With this deal happening July 10, the Heat are still looking for more pieces to make their roster, a winning team. July 16, the Heat struck another contract, signing Mike Miller who was a free agent. Adding Mike, the Heat are one step closer to completing their roster. I'm really excited to see what happens next season.

Artistic abilities

Today I ran over to Momentum on 8th street to visit everyone and pick up a Kidrobot Munny, Rooz and Krink. I will struggle with this because I have very little artistic skills but this should be interesting.

Calgary trip

So on the eighteenth of this month I am heading to Calgary with some of my family because I have a lot of relatives there. The plan is to visit all of my family and hopefully see my good friend Ryan Contenti that I used to play soccer with. I will do a bit of shopping at Group Seven and Livestock in search of a Reigning Champ zip up hoodie.

If I sell my Civic soon, I will also be able to pick up the Nissan Maxima. I don't want to get my hopes up too high but I really do want that vehicle. Another huge plan for the trip is to go and see Drake at the Big Four building on July 25. Aashna will be flying up that day to come see it with me. I am very excited for that, should be a lot of fun. Other than that Chinese dinners every night and hanging out with friends and family. Calgary is always a fun trip.

World Cup Champions

This has been the first time that Spain has won a World Cup. First Euros two years ago and now World Cup. After panic of Robben missing two breakaways and subbing on both Fabregas and Torres, Iniesta was able to get his lucky break. I have been with Spain since the beginning so I am truly excited. Hopefully Torres will heal from his knee injury and will be back at it for Liverpool.

2010 World Cup Finals

If you don't already know, this sunday Holland and Spain play for the title of World Cup Champions. Neither of the two teams have ever won a World Cup title so regardless of the victor, history will be made. Personally i'm rooting for the Dutch, but after watching Spain's last game against Germany anything could happen. I wont be able to watch the game live due to work. Instead, i'll be furiously checking the score on my phone. Go Holland!

Toy Story 3

Today I watched Toy Story 3, the first two were childhood favorites. The whole movie is quite interesting, but I cannot tell everyone what happens without spoiling it. It all takes place when Andy is seventeen and is off to college. The toys are clueless of what to do next, I recommend everyone to watch it especially if they were fans of the first two!

The Roots pt. 3

A couple of weeks ago, during the local Jazz Festival, I was fortunate enough to attend The Roots' concert. I say fortunate because, at first, I wasn't planning on attending and I waited until the day of to grab a sold out ticket (somehow my friend had an extra). Between arriving 5 hours early by accident, watching Questlove walk past me into his hotel, seeing Tuba Gooding Jr. jaywalk as he returned from the mall, and being hugged (several times..) by a drunk 40+ year old woman in the crowd, I'd say it was a good night. Apparently, The Roots are 1 of the 25 best live shows to see according to Rolling Stone, and this show wasn't an exception. I'd say I am an average Roots fan, Game Theory was my shit back when it was released in '06 and You Got Me was the first song of theirs I had ever heard. Didn't really dig Rising Down, but their newest album is a great listen especially with the Blu features.

I took some pictures and grabbed a few videos of the show with my camera: You Got Me, Get Busy, and some random stuff. Oh one more thing, I just have to say that Tuba Gooding Jr. exudes swag(ger) while playing.

At the end of the show Questlove threw out some of his covers to the crowd. I happened to catch one. Great night, great night.

Vehicle opportunity

Sunday my mom called me while I was at work to let me know that my cousin's husband had offered to sell me his car. After a lot of conflict over this idea with my family, my mom wants me to try and sell my car. If I can sell my car(1998 Honda Civic) in the next two to three weeks I am able to buy a 2001 Nissan Maxima SE. It has a navy exterior and is loaded. At the moment I am working on selling my car and making sure that I am able to get the car in Alberta back here. I am excited about this offer because of the price of the vehicle and the model itself, V6 engine with 227 hp.

Picked up a pair of charcoal/burgundy chukkas from momentum the other day. Going to skate them in place of my torn up tres. Hopefully they are as good as Ryan says.

DALLAS

Back at it

After all of this World Cup hype and the idea to begin playing for a team again this fall have just gotten me excited. My goal for pre-season is to get back into shape and get outside more often to kick a ball around. I would like to become a better player, or to atleast become as good as I was before for starters. This is definitely achievable, Aashna is going to play at USA cup and has soccer provincials and my brother has provincials coming near. This makes me feel terrible, I am usually playing at this time of year as well. Matter of fact, I never used to take breaks from soccer. I really hope this team works out.

A while back, Tyler, Mike, Dallas and I were trying to find a dry place to skate. This happened in the summer so the university was not busy late in the evening. The four of us had some little races.

Typical Tuesday evening

Dallas is right this wear is shit! I was recently at New Island with Dallas, JJ and Aashna (pictures below). After we left the building, it was a nice rain and a lot of lightning. By the time I got to Aashna's to drop her off it was raining harder then I had forgot my iPod and camera so I went back to grab my toys and say goodbye to Aashna. I hung out with her and watched her pack for a bit until it was time to leave. The hail was painful to both me and my car. The drive was very scary (no lie) and had taken me 30 minutes to get home because I had to pull over. If you had read earlier on when hello saskatoon was created you would remember that I had been in my accident and my door was replaced. The new door and window has allowed water to leak into my vehicle. Not too happy about that.
