One of my favorite things to do on a Sunday morning is to go yum cha with the family. This time we went to Yip Hong's and it was quite busy. I realized that the Asian people were all crowded up at 10:30-11 am, while all of the Canadian folks were just beginning to show up at that 12 o'clock lunch time mark. Yum cha generally ends around 12:30-1, so if you are interested try to show up a bit earlier. Yip Hong's is like most Asian restaurants, non modernized decor but excellent food. As of now, I would say that it is the most popular restaurant in the city for authentic Chinese dishes.
It was pretty delicious, the only thing that disappointed me today was the selection. I felt like the same dishes were being brought around, there were a lot of foods that we weren't offered. We still managed to enjoy ourselves by eating rice noodles, spare ribs, taro root and mango pudding with condensed milk just to name a few things. If you are willing to try eating something like this, I would recommend Yip Hong or the Mandarin.
Love the North,

Can't recall being invited to this. And the pictures just add insult to injury.
