Nike Mercurial Vapor IX | Cristiano Ronaldo
Today Cristiano Ronaldo's Vapor IX releases. The Mercurial Vapor is Nike's lightest boot to date. This model specifically does not feature the golf ball dimple textured upper but instead a soft leather feel. The material is a Teijin microfiber. This boot features a different look than the other Vapor IX's along with Cristiano Ronaldo branding. If you are interested, hit online sites up or give Xtratime a call!

Review | A$AP Rocky
Last night Pretty Flacko performed at the Odeon. The doors opened at 7 pm and he stepped to the stage at around 11 pm after multiple opening acts. The environment was crazy, everyone was down to party and apparently the show had sold out. The amount of energy in the building provided an awesome aura. The Odeon hosted another successful show again with good sound and good security.
I was happy with his set, he performed fan favourites like Peso, PMW, Fucking Problems and Goldie but I would have also really liked to hear songs like Suddenly and Big Spender. A$AP Rocky had a really good stage presence. He had good movement, was having physical and verbal interaction with the crowd and even stopped rapping to comment on a fight between two guys. In conclusion, he sounded great and looked great. I hope to see him again one day!

Air Jordan III | Retro '88
Tomorrow morning the Air Jordan III will hit a couple of stores in the city. The US already had this release last month and it was a huge success for the Jordan brand which leads us to the Canadian drop. The shoes will be priced more than most pairs for the main reason that the "Nike Air" sits on the heel rather than the Jumpman, this hasn't been done since 1988 (hence the name). Through blogs and websites, I will tell you that many people are not planning on sleeping on these, I assume that there will at least be a few people waiting at midnight Saturday in the cold. Momentum on 8th Street will be receiving these and possibly Foot Locker in Midtown Plaza as well. Best of luck!

Just For Kicks 2013
This weekend is Saskatoon's Just For Kicks (JFK) soccer tournament. The tournament will be played on tile for mens, womens and co-ed in various age groups. It will be hosted at the Henk Ruys Centre. It is completely recreational, most teams competing are playing just for fun. Actually, majority of the people there are just hanging out to socialize and party in the evenings. You can find Dallas, JJ and myself there playing the co-ed tournament. I plan on living at the old soccer centre all weekend, I hope to see you there!

Nike Football | My Ground
Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta starts the campaign for Nike's indoor and artificial turf footwear collection. Him and I have more in common than I thought, both of us learning to play in 5v5 situations. I thought this was suiting for those of you who are playing in the JFK tournament this weekend. I could definitely see myself playing in the Nike Lunar Gato II (Blue pair).

Just a Taste: Poached Breakfast Bistro
Poached Over Asparagus |
Location
Poached has the same location as Flint. It is downtown at 259 2nd Avenue South.Environment
Poached serves as a breakfast joint in the morning and Flint serves as a bar/lounge in the evening. As soon as you walk through the front entrance, you must walk through a curtain where servers may lead you to table. The restaurant is long and narrow with limited seating, I really like the modern look. Our server was also great, she put up with my indecisive ordering and gave off a positive energy.
Menu
The menu is small, but it gives you a tough time ordering with many good options. You can select traditional breakfast options like eggs benedict, omlettes, French toast and more. You can also choose sides such as turkey sausage, cornmeal crusted back bacon and roasted asparagus. Poached is also known for their hand-squeezed orange juice.
Food
I ordered the poached eggs over crab (pollock) cakes and shared a side of potato croquettes and turkey sausage. The poached eggs were covered in a red pepper sauce and the crab cakes were panko crusted. Both were delicious, it was a good sized serving and delicious. The crab cakes were soft and crispy offering a good texture. The salad was also good, but made the meal more appealing with the colour it provided.
I didn't get a shot of the turkey sausage, but it resembled bratwurst with softer skin and a more tender texture. The potato croquettes were great, I have never had anything really like them. It is potato and herbs panko crusted and served with goat cheese. They also offer a side of rye bread or a bagel.
Poached Over Crab Cakes |
I was really happy with both the food and service and it is Aashna's favourite place for breakfast. Needless to say, I will be returning and hope to eventually try everything on the menu.

Let's Chat: Vine
So I guess the new big thing on Twitter is Vine. Now if you're not too sure on what Vine is, it's an app owned by Twitter that allows you to upload little six second clips to Vine, Twitter and/or Facebook if you choose.
The dandy thing about this app is that you can piece together these videos as you're recording. It starts recording the instant you put your thumb on the screen and stops once your thumb is off. So with that, you can create sequential scenes.
At this time it's only available to iPhones.
I'm moderately addicted to this app, mostly because I have the attention span of a gold fish. A photo can only share so much, but a six second video takes it a step further. It's short enough to convey a point. Sort of like, how funny can I make something or how can I show how beautiful something is within the time limit, it somewhat pushes a person to send a message across as quick as possible.
Because I mean, who has time to watch a minute video? Some of the funniest things I've seen all week were Vine videos.
So if you got an iPhone, are on Twitter and enjoy sharing moments of your life, why wouldn't you want Vine?
And I'm not being paid by Twitter, Vine is legitimately awesome.

Lets Chat: Watching Soccer
I was talking to someone last week from Edmonton about where the best place in the city is to catch soccer matches. This got me thinking about where I usually go, and my friends and myself usually just drift place to place. Tournaments such as Champion's League, Europa and FA Cup have been quite exciting moving in to quarter final stages and lately I have been sitting at my house watching alone. The conclusion to this is that we as a soccer community need to be watching at a particular restaurant/pub/lounge/bar (preferably with Sportsnet World).
Leave a comment below of where you like to watch or where you would like to watch!

Hustle & Thrive | The Super Professionals EP
Chapter Thrive and Charly Hustle, the collaboration between the two makes sense. Partnered up during shows; an impromptu team of friend helping out a friend, up turned into a contagious high energy performance. Working alongside both Hustle & Thrive was always a good time, seeing either of the two on a Scratch event poster meant that night was going to get 'super professional'.
The SociaList Toast released December 2012, celebrated the good times at Scratch and the birth of the Super Professionals working together. After listening to The SociaList Toast, I wanted more from Hustle & Thrive.

the Method to my Madness,
A$AP Rocky | March 26, 2013
On March 26, 2013, A$AP Rocky is playing a show at the Odeon between his tour with Rihanna. The tickets cost about $47 for general admission and VIP tickets are also available (buy tickets here). This is an all ages show and the doors open at 7 pm.
I am looking forward to this show. Many of my friends and myself have already purchased our tickets and from what I hear, they are selling quickly. My homie in New York told me that Rocky plays a great show in a small venue which makes me happy that this show wasn't part of the tour and in the Credit Union Centre. Beneath are some songs that are not safe for work or a young audience.

Much Music VJ Search | VOTE for DT
Much Music is hosting a VJ Search, David Thomson (Saskatoon local, now living in Toronto) has stepped up to the plate. If you don't know DT, he is the perfect fit for the job.
3 reasons why I think you should VOTE for him...
#1. He is a talented filmmaker, and this is right up his alley.
#2. It's DT. David Thomson is the man. DUH.
#3. He taught me the stutter step when we were playing basketball once. True Story.
Take a look at his video submission below, and then scroll down to VOTE.
VOTE for David Thomson, so a good guy will finish in first for once, and I will have a reason to watch Much Music again.
*Did you notice the corporate sponsor is Fructis... very fitting. Look at that flow.

Nike Flyknit Lunar 1+
I just received a pair of Flyknit Lunar's for myself and a pair for Aashna. We plan on going to California and Banff this Summer so I thought I would get us each a pair for Valentine's day for all of the walking we plan on doing. These released on February 14, 2013 after the success of the previous model used during the Olympics. Nike was also awarded for their technology advancements in the sneaker industry with the invention of Flyknit.
The shoe is named a Flyknit for the knitted upper, it has the purpose of providing a snug fit, breathability and light weight. These shoes also minimize waste by using the knitted material. The shoe sits on a Lunarlon sole which is one of Nike's current most popular midsoles for running. It is also compatible to Nike+. I would say order your true size but I am not too sure how they stretch so far.
Sadly these may not enter the Canadian market but can be purchased from Foot Locker online.
