Air Jordan V | Grapes
This Saturday (May 5, 2013), the Grape V's will release in select Saskatoon retailers. These came just in time for Spring and will make a nice Summer shoe but an even better street ball shoe at your neighbourhood court. The Jordan V is my favourite from the collection of the 23 options and this colour always stands out, not to mention the icey sole. Your best bet is Foot Locker and Momentum.

Summer Jams: Daft Punk ft. Pharrell Williams | Get Lucky
Of course I gotta throw down this track. I bet all my earthly possessions that this album will be the summer soundtrack of 2013.

Vertical Horizon of Hong Kong
Romain Jacquet-Lagreze is a French photographer and graphic designer. I came across him on my daily Hypebeast check up. Here he took vertical shots of Hong Kong to give people like you and I the second hand taste of their architecture. These photographs can be found in a book along hundreds of other cool photos. You can purchase the book here.

Just a Taste: State & Main
Location
The exact location for State & Main is 100 - 475 2nd Avenue South. It resides between River Landing and the Galaxy theatre.
Environment
The restaurant is quite nice, it is filled with televisions playing sports channels, has free wi-fi, dim lights and well utilizes booths. The staff is also polite and patient with their guests. One thing worth mentioning is that the floor rises in certain areas of the restaurant and you must be careful not to trip, I am just stating this through personal experience. State & Main is open to adults only.
Menu
Being similar to Original Joes, State & Main offers a fun two-paged menu and a large drink menu. They offer specials on either appetizers and/or drinks daily.
Food
This post is based on two different evenings. First, the guys and I went on a Wednesday evening for wing night. BBQ, hot, buffalo, teriyaki and salt and pepper chicken wings were all $3.90. It's not a crazy selection, but they definitely hit most of the bases. I went with the buffalo wings, which weren't spicy but had a nice taste.
Just the other night I went again with my girl to get a proper meal. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, the grilled chicken club and the grilled cheeseburger (thanks for the recommendation Mike). The calamari is really good, being crispy, not being too salty, having battered jalapenos and peppers and having a nice red pepper aioli. Aashna even claimed that it was her favourite calamari in the city.
The grilled cheeseburger was crazy, offering two side dishes as well. The burger was delicious, but make sure that you are prepared to eat. The name says it all, it's a grilled cheese sandwich with a patty in the middle. Then I made a bad decision of ordering two side carb dishes, fries and mashed potatoes.. The fries came with a delicious gravy and a dill dip and the jalapeno cheddar mashed potatoes was some kind of wonderful. Not to mention, that Aashna said her chicken club was far from being a disappointment.
Conclusion
To conclude, I will definitely be back again. They have great meals and appetizers, a good selection of beers and good service.

Drake Feat. James Fauntleroy | Girls Love Beyoncé
This is the Drake that I enjoy listening to, that "So Far Gone" Drake. James Fauntleroy also blesses the track with the chorus of "Say My Name" from Destiny's Child.

Listen Up | Daniela Andrade
My friend Patrick recently shared a video of Daniela, a local Edmonton girl singing Thinking About You. Procrastination and my attention span got the worst of me as I was studying and I had to view it. After watching that video, I had to check out her YouTube channel and view more videos. Her voice is soft and feeds my ears with goodies. Not to mention, she plays an acoustic guitar in every video I have seen so far. Here are some of my favourites:
I had to suscribe and it wouldn't hurt if you did too. Now excuse me, but I have five years of videos to catch up on.

Lets Chat: Instagram
Instagram allows me to share photos with my followers and vice versa. The interactiveness of social media has gone beyond my head being a former user of MySpace and Nexopia. This is a simple and fun ways of keeping yourself entertained at school, on the bus or a lunch break. People may be like "I don't care what you do in your day to day life!" Well, this might not be the thing for you but for those of you who enjoy seeing where a person has been traveling, what they have been eating or cool shots in general, Instagram is a must have. I will give you a break down of my current top three accounts to follow.
1. Legends League -Bryan Espiritu
Bryan is a hardworking graphic designer creating clothes for his Toronto clientele and the rest of the world. In my opinion, he is one of the best graphic designer's in the street wear industry. He's edgy, does what he wants and people like me are really loving it. He posts a lot of photos of current clothing and his artistic ability.
2. Nike Football
As you can tell, I love soccer. Not only do I enjoy playing, but I am interested in the product too. I once wanted to pursue a career not only as being an athlete but perhaps a shoe designer or Nike representative. This is a way of staying up to date on their current products, athletes and more.
3. Alex Maeland
From what I have learned off of Instagram, he is a marketing manager of Hypebeast (I'm a creep). He takes a lot of landscape shots, city views and that's why I like to follow him. Just off of this photo below, you get a good sense of what he posts regularly.
And if you are interested, we also have our own Instagram account: @hellosaskatoon

Lemieux on You. | Tyler, The Creator
Paul Lemieux has been the sole reason why MTV Canada is still on my radar. 'Lemieux on You' is a candid sit-down interview where nothing is held back, and personalities are brought out in natural form.
Recently Paul (see: Paul The Intern), met up with OFWGKTA's most outspoken. The usual went down from both parties. Enjoy!

Review | Stars
Let me level with you guys, I never did listen to Stars’ two most recent albums. I kind of fell off after ‘In Our Bedroom After The War’. I guess after my soft rock phase I went through a screamo phase. It’s really hard keeping up with music, frankly it’s a pain in the butt.
Stars recently rolled through town and decided to go check them out for nostalgia sake. I thought it was gonna be bogus since I didn’t know any of the new stuff. Man was I wrong. New songs or not, Stars knows how to put on a show.
What I love those most about a band is how well they can put on a live show. If you don’t got the energy and just stand there and sing while your band stands there and strums, then I’m gonna go night night. But Stars had it all. It was a spot on performance, especially from Torquill Campbell, the male singer, the man is lunatic. I hope to be that good looking when I’m 40.
But what really did it for me was how sincerely thankful this band was to play in Saskatoon. Sure bands say it all the time “Saskatoon, you’re honestly our favourite city to play in. Thank you” then they jet. But Stars would thank the city, then recall times they’ve played here, tell a story or two about the city and how they have some history in it. Additionally, you can tell that they are truly thankful to the fans and how lucky they are to do what they love. And you really can’t knock on a band for that.
I’m kinda just gushing right now. It was a beautiful show and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
